The Women's Centre of Montreal East / Pointe-aux-Trembles is a space where every woman is welcomed with respect and kindness. Our mission is to contribute to the fulfillment of women and the development of their autonomy. Through support services, listening and awareness-raising, education and various activities, we accompany women in their challenges and life goals.

Our Vision

All women have the capacity to find the best solutions for improving their lives. Our role is to offer tools so that they can, in complete freedom, choose the ways in which they wish to propel themselves and develop their full potential. We aim to make a positive impact on every woman's life.

Our History

Since 1995, a place for women to blossom

Founded in 1995, the Women's Centre of Montreal East / Pointe-aux-Trembles is an organization dedicated to welcoming women and offering a range of services designed to promote their autonomy and personal development.

However, the adventure began in 1990, when a group of women decided to accompany other women, on a voluntary basis, in their divorce and alimony proceedings. In addition to intervening in a number of cases of domestic violence, they also help to facilitate the women's integration into the workforce.

In 1995, faced with increasing demand for their services, they founded the Women's Centre of Montreal East / Pointe-aux-Trembles.

Pioneer volunteers take on the task of accompanying Montreal women, more specifically those from Pointe-aux-Trembles and Montreal East, in their divorce and alimony proceedings. In addition to intervening in a number of cases of domestic violence, these volunteers accompany women to facilitate their integration into the workforce.

 

Faced with increasing demand for their services, they founded the Women’s Centre of Montreal East/Pointe-aux-Trembles.

As part of the 375th anniversary of the city of Montreal, the Women’s Centre took part in a re-enactment of the arrival of the Filles du Roy by boat. The participating women proudly wore the clothes of yesteryear and took part in several activities.

Based at the Centre communautaire Roussin, the organization now offers a wide range of services and activities to local women. We answer more than 1,500 calls and attend over 3,500 events every year.
