let's break the silence,
No to violence!
On September 18, 2021, the Women's Center of Montreal-East/Pointe-aux-Trembles organized an awareness march on domestic and sexual violence. Over 100 people showed up to march and make noise for the cause. The event took place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and ended at the Maison des jeunes in Pointe-aux-Trembles.
All dressed in pink, placards in hand, we heard slogans such as "So-so-so-solidarity, with women around the world!" or "Let's break the silence, no to violence!" resonate strongly in Pointe-aux-Trembles. If you saw a crowd of people going by on Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Sherbrooke and Tricentenaire boulevards, there's a good chance that you saw us! At the end of the march, snacks were distributed and elected officials were able to take the floor to give their support.
Egalitarian relationships have often been mentioned and as our MP for Pointe-aux-Trembles, Mario Beaulieu, said: "Equality between men and women is supposed to be a relationship of respect and not of domination. When it's in respect, it benefits everyone. world, both men and women. So, we hope to have been heard! And we won't stop until we get the respect and equality we deserve.
