Our history
1990 :
Pioneers take charge of supporting Montrealers, more specifically those of Pointe-aux-Trembles and Montreal-East, in their divorce proceedings and alimony requests. In addition to intervening in many cases of domestic violence, these volunteers support women to facilitate their integration into employment.
1995:
Faced with the increase in requests for services, they founded the Center des Femmes de Montréal-Est / Pointe-aux-Trembles.
2017:
As part of the 375th anniversary of the city of Montreal, the Women's Center took part in a reproduction of the arrival of the Filles du Roy by boat. The participating women proudly wore the clothes of yesteryear and took part in several activities.
Today
Based at the Roussin Community Center, the organization now deploys a wide range of services and activities for the citizens of the neighborhood. We respond to more 1,500 calls and we have more than 3,500 attendances to our activities each year.
