On paper, well-being is characterized as a state that everyone seeks to achieve to a greater or lesser extent. It is directly linked to several factors that are specific to each person.
Among these factors, we find our pleasure of course, our health, our comfort, our material success, self-realization, as well as harmony with ourselves, other individuals and our environment.
Why is a wellness routine important?
We can't say it enough, but stress and anxiety can be quite harmful to your health. If the state of stress persists, it can have serious consequences on both mental and physical health. That's why it's important to take care of yourself and to approach your daily life in a positive way by respecting the healthiest rhythm of life possible. But how can we do this?
Steps to follow to reach a state of well-being
1. Accept that there are ups and downs in life. Don't you think that today, there is a kind of social pressure to be happy at all costs? As if we had no right to fail, no right to be unhappy. Well-being is not the absence of negativity. Spending your life trying to avoid the negative is a bit like fighting a windmill, it is rather counterproductive. We have to stop looking for absolute happiness, because the more we have high expectations, the more our stress level becomes excessive and we forget to live for ourselves.
2. Adopt a more zen lifestyle. For optimum well-being and to ensure that you live a zen life, you must manage and regulate your emotions, anxiety and stress. To do so, it is possible to work on your mind with exercises and relaxation methods. Also, yoga is an excellent practice that helps regulate the balance between body and mind.
Finally, it is possible to slow down, to take the time to appreciate life, to let go of the small material worries of everyday life and to reduce one's expectations in order to avoid frustrations with a practice called "slow-life". More than a philosophy of life, it is about taking time to avoid unnecessary stress, even if it means deliberately choosing the side roads and the slowest solutions to build a haven of peace where the ambient madness does not reach us.
3. Live in a healthy environment at home. We don't think about it often enough, but it is important to get rid of dust mites. They exist everywhere in our living spaces, even in the cleanest of interiors, and they often cause us to sneeze and itch. To reduce their number or get rid of them for good, it is better to wash regularly, with hot water, all sheets, cushions, towels, etc.
Also, it is recommended to use natural and non-toxic cleaning products in everyday life. It is a necessary awareness on our part to avoid endangering our health on a daily basis and affect our well-being and physical integrity in the long term.
4. Sleep better. Because there is no well-being without sleep. Big or small sleeper, early riser or late sleeper, we all have different needs in relation to sleep. What remains true for everyone is that sleep is absolutely essential for one's health and well-being, beyond problems of vigilance during the day, poor quality sleep can lead to long-term hypertension, obesity, diabetes, emotional disorders and immune deficiency. Quality sleep allows our body to recover physically and psychologically, and to rebuild its immune defenses against threats such as viruses and bacteria.
To sleep better, it is important to regulate the temperature to feel good, not to be too hot or too cold is the optimal result. Also, the bedding has a direct link with the well-being. Even though it may cost a little more to have good pillows and sheets, the results on your mood and productivity will not leave you indifferent.
5. Have a good diet. We all have a tendency to prefer certain types of food according to our cravings at the time and rarely according to their contribution to our body. However, there are many foods that could have a beneficial effect on our well-being.

6. Live in a healthy environment at work. We have seen that our well-being is linked to our diet, our sleep, our living environment. It is also linked to our main activity, which is what we will spend most of our days on, our work. The main sources of stress at work are
work overload,
pressure from the hierarchy,
the fear of losing one's job,
the ambiguity of roles and responsibilities of each person,
the pressure of results,
organizational constraints (procedures, meetings...),
pressure from clients,
lack of professional skills.
But what can we do to reduce our stress in relation to all these constraints? It's simple, we have to use the methods mentioned above such as meditation, relaxation, good hours of sleep, etc. And try as much as possible to find interests other than work to be able to decompress. Also, having a well-organized and uncluttered workspace has been proven to help reduce stress in employees.
In the end, managing stress at work should be approached in a more general way by finding an overall life balance, work or not, that will guide you every day and allow you to improve your quality of life and achieve well-being in almost any situation.
